Ruth Idunn

Ruth "Ruthie" Idunn (She/They) is a Hellenic Hedgewitch from Olympia, WA. Dabbling in a variety of dance genres from a young age, Ruth has predominantly enjoyed ecstatic and expressionist dance forms - especially in the context of trance and magick. Expressing a passion for storytelling and spellwork through physical form, Ruth hopes to inspire others to seek an embodied movement practice. Ruth recently portrayed the muse Eratu in the German-expressionist, horror retelling of Grecian myth's The Goddess and the Spider with Das Biest. Ruth has a bachelor's degree in Communication and Environmental Science, is a professional educator and mycologist, a student of herbal medicine, and delights in art (of all forms), gardening, mushrooming, horror and fantasy media, word-witchery, hiking, kayaking, and adventuring around the PNW with partner Cody, 2 younglings, and husky Zeus.

V

V (they/them) is a creative being residing in Olympia, WA. They can often be found wandering the woods, cozy with a cup of tea, or delving into dance. Storytelling through embodiment is something V has been exploring for many years. They have been dancing for about a decade, moving through a variety of styles including folk dances, ballroom, modern, and lyrical. V’s favorite part of Das Biest’s production process is playing with various shapes and forms that flow into its own crafted choreography. Over the years, their dance practice has grown to embrace ecstatic and organic movement as their primary form of creative expression. They love to approach each piece with curiosity and let it blossom in its own unique way.
